Lathe mandrels are made of high-quality steel, hardened and ground
Mandrels are conical
The size of the mandrel is marked on the larger side diameter
Mandrels are mainly used for machining smaller rotary objects that already have a hole machined
The object to be machined is pushed onto the smaller side of the mandrel and moved until it catches on the conical surface of the mandrel
To achieve a larger for accuracy it is recommended to clamp the mandrel between the prongs.
Rotation is then ensured by a heart driver, which is attached to the side of the mandrel equipped with a flat surface.
