Product information
For drilling the diameter: according to the selected variant
Apex angle: 144°
Material: sintered powder steel 15 with Alu-Tec coating
The perfect economic replacement for classic HSS drills, now with excellent performance, improved chip evacuation geometry, higher strength and longer service life.
Usage :
Aluminium, brass, copper, bronze and other non-ferrous metals
Inserts made of sintered steel are recommended for use in drills / milling machines and lathes without numerical control (without NC). Thanks to their higher toughness, they can withstand even worse handling (than carbide) and do not chip as much.
Carbide inserts are ideal for machines with numerical control (NC), but it is also possible to use them on classic machines without NC - you just need to think about the fact that possible tremors / vibrations during machining (free spindle, low rigidity of the machine ) can cause its premature damage / breakage.

ISO296 taper shank drill with straight slot, Karnasch
VBD drill - drill for exchangeable inserts, with internal cooling Drilling range: according to the selected variant Drilling depth: according to the selected variant Other measures - see the enclosed catalog sheet Standard: ISO296 type BEK Straight slot - use of a drill on a lathe and on all machines where the workpiece rotates and the drill stands - lathes, NC. Straight groove geometry is also suitable for machining cast iron, aluminum, etc., regardless of whether the workpiece or drill is rotating - ie use in drills / milling machines and lathes / NC. The package includes a holder, 2x clamping screw and 1x torx key. Interchangeable inserts are purchased separately - see "Related Products" Karnasch manufactures both carbide and sintered steel inserts. It is therefore used both for NC (with carbide insert) and for conventional machines without numerical control (with sintered steel insert). Of course, carbide inserts can also be used on conventional machines, you just need to keep in mind that any vibrations (loose spindle, low rigidity of the system / machine, etc.) can cause premature damage / breakage of the carbide insert. Sintered steel is tougher and can withstand worse handling. Kat. No. 221040
